This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) sets out the rules for the responsible and lawful use of internet, LTE, 5G, Fibre, eSIM and related connectivity services provided by Zub Connect.
By purchasing, activating or using a Zub Connect service, you agree to use the service responsibly, lawfully and in accordance with this Policy, our Terms & Conditions and applicable South African law.
1. Purpose
Zub Connect provides connectivity services for legitimate personal, household and business use.
This Policy is intended to protect our customers, our network partners and Zub Connect from activities that may:

Harm or disrupt networks or services

Affect other customers' use of services

Involve unlawful activity

Compromise network or information security
-
Abuse or misuse Zub Connect services
2. Lawful Use
You may only use Zub Connect services for lawful purposes.
You must not use our services to:

Commit or facilitate a criminal offence

Access, distribute or transmit unlawful content
-
Infringe another person's intellectual property or other legal rights
-
Commit fraud, identity theft or impersonation
-
Harass, threaten or unlawfully harm another person
-
Facilitate or participate in cybercrime
-
Circumvent lawful restrictions or security controls
You remain responsible for your use of the service and for activity conducted through your connection.
3. Network and System Abuse
You must not use Zub Connect services in a manner that intentionally interferes with, damages or attempts to gain unauthorised access to:

Zub Connect systems

Network provider systems
-
Telecommunications networks
-
Servers or other connected systems
-
Another customer's devices, accounts or information
Prohibited activities include unauthorised access, port scanning intended to facilitate an attack, denial-of-service attacks, malware distribution and attempts to compromise network security.
4. Fraud and Abuse
Zub Connect services may not be used for fraudulent or deceptive activities.
This includes:

Using false or misleading information to obtain a service

Circumventing account or service restrictions
-
Reselling a service without Zub Connect's written authorisation

Sharing, transferring or using SIMs or accounts in a manner that violates the applicable service terms

Attempting to obtain services through unauthorised payment methods
-
Using another person's identity or personal information without authorisation
5. SIM and eSIM Use
SIM cards and eSIM services must only be used in accordance with the applicable product and network-provider terms.
Where a particular SIM or service is restricted to specified devices, customers must use a compatible device.
Zub Connect or the applicable network provider may restrict, suspend or block a SIM where required because of suspected fraud, misuse, security concerns, regulatory requirements or violation of applicable service conditions.
Customers are responsible for keeping their SIM, eSIM activation details and account information secure.
6. Excessive or Abusive Use
Some Zub Connect services are subject to a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) or other network-management conditions.
Where a product has a stated FUP, the applicable product terms will explain what happens when the allowance is reached.
Customers must not attempt to circumvent a FUP, speed restriction, network-management measure or other applicable service limitation.
This may include using technical methods or alternative configurations specifically intended to bypass an applicable restriction.
7. Security
Customers are responsible for taking reasonable steps to secure devices connected to Zub Connect services.
We recommend that customers:

Keep operating systems and applications updated

Use appropriate passwords and security controls

Protect Wi-Fi networks with a secure password
-
Avoid sharing account credentials
-
Use appropriate antivirus and security software where applicable
-
Secure routers and other network equipment against unauthorised access
Customers should notify Zub Connect as soon as reasonably possible if they believe their account, SIM, eSIM or service has been compromised.
8. Content and Communications
Zub Connect provides connectivity and does not generally control or monitor the content customers access, upload or transmit.
Customers are responsible for the content and communications they send or receive through their service and must comply with applicable laws.
We may take action where required by law or where necessary to protect our systems, network partners, customers or services.
9. Business and Resale Use
Unless expressly permitted under the applicable product terms, customers may not resell, redistribute or commercially provide Zub Connect connectivity to third parties.
Customers who require connectivity for commercial resale, public Wi-Fi, managed services or similar applications should contact Zub Connect to discuss an appropriate business solution.
10. Suspension or Termination
Where reasonably necessary, Zub Connect may suspend, restrict or terminate a service in accordance with the customer's agreement and applicable law where:

The service is used unlawfully

The customer breaches this Policy

The service is used for fraud or abuse
-
The customer's activity creates a security or network risk
-
The customer attempts to circumvent applicable service restrictions
-
Suspension or restriction is required by a network provider, regulator or other lawful authority
Where appropriate and permitted, Zub Connect may provide the customer with an opportunity to remedy the relevant breach before taking further action.
Nothing in this Policy limits any rights Zub Connect or the customer may have under applicable law or the relevant service agreement.
11. Network Provider Requirements
Certain Zub Connect services operate on third-party telecommunications networks.
Customers must comply with applicable network-provider requirements and product conditions in addition to this Policy.
Where a network provider imposes restrictions, requirements or technical conditions on a particular service, those conditions may apply to the customer's use of that service.
12. Changes to This Policy
Zub Connect may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology, network-provider requirements or applicable laws.
The latest version will be published on our website with the applicable effective date.
